This is the debut album from New York singer songwriter Jaymay. Her voice and singing are strongly influenced by Bob Dylan with this album signifying the end of a relationship.

A deep and personal record drawn out over ten songs reflecting the different states of mind following the void of a breakdown is sung with glimmers of hope without being too bleak.

Opening tracks 'Gray or Blue’ and 'Sycamore Down’ are gentle acoustic recollections of falling in love; while 'Blue Skies’ and 'Sea Green, See Blue’ takes in a more melancholic approach towards being in a relationship. The title track of 'Autumn Fallin’ and my favourite track of the album 'You’d Rather Run’ are the breakdown point and the beginning of the heartbreak. 'You’d Rather Run’ is almost ten minutes in length but does not feel like it, because the tempo of Jaymay’s voice telling the story over in a folk/country and soft blues fashion. 'Hard To Say’ has a totally different feel in an old fashioned swing style. The closer 'You Are The Only One I Love’ celebrates the love once held and sung in a choir format concluding the emotions of the final curtain call.

Rather fitting and a good background album for these rainy autumn months.
