It's been a few years since Mr Burridge graced our ears with a mix compilation but having signed up to the ever improving Balance series, he gives us three cds of seemless grooving techy house.

Supported by a massive world tour (which shockingly, only includes one UK date) Lee has put together 39 tracks spread over the three discs that perfectly sum up what's pumping out of the speakers of the more underground house venues at the moment. Tracks like the deep grooving opener '10a' from Ripperton, the mild electro of 'Tristesse' from Kollective Turmstrasse and the sublime Paul Daley remix of Jose Padilla's 'Adios Ayer' which signs off CD1.

CD2 steps things up somewhat leaving the smoother grooves behind and increasing the bleep and glitch ratios. The track selection gets your mind working overtime as rhythms and basslines switch in and out. The glitchfest never more noticable than with Tigerskins 'Plagait' and 'Claridad' from Jorge Savoretti before sanity is restored with Martin Buttrich's 'Programmer' completing the middle segment.

The final disc continues in a similar vein to it's predecessor but brings in more percussive sounds and rhythms like Gabriel Ananda's 'Trommelstunde' and the Woody mix of Autotune's 'Dirty'. Lee cleverly drops the pace slightly before unleashing the stunning climax of the Lil Louis inspired 'Just Electricity' from Patrice Baumel.

The idea behind the compilation is to give the listener a feel of how Lee Burridge puts a set together and if you could put names to the three discs they would probably be heart, head and ass! If slightly weird, thought provoking techno and house are your thing then this is for you.
