There is a problem with unmixed 'lounge' bar compilations that they provide a number of tracks that follow the same formula and you end up with a collection that doesn't move in any direction. This triple CD from the credible suSU label sometimes falls into the same trap, however the third CD in the pack - a mix of selected tracks from the first two CDs put together by H&H Soulsurvivors – does offer a continuous flowing option. While CD one struggles to get into a groove, the second disc does pick up the baton and offers some ass shaking moments. There are productions and remixes from some of the biggest names in house music and individually these tracks would fit nicely into any sunlit terrace set. Blaze, Raw Artistic Soul, Ron Trent and Ananda Project all feature and add weight to the compilation.
The collection on a whole, fits perfectly in to the groove of a pre-club bar and while there are some uninteresting tracks here there is enough, especially with the third disc, to give you value for money. I suppose you wouldn't expect to hear all your favourite music the minute you walked into a bar and that is the feeling here, some quality but spread across the whole release.
