Having heard the single ‘Boy Boy Boy' [click here for review] I was already sold on the potential of this Irish singer/songwriter. Occasionally you get an artist that seems to talk directly to you and this album is a case in point. In reality I'm sure he is calling out to all the emotionally unstable souls that wander aimlessly through their day-to-day lives in search of that missing piece of life's jigsaw. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for a great hook and a catchy vocal delivery, there's certainly plenty to be found on Iain Archer's latest release.

‘Pressure Drop' starts the album off perfectly with an awkward guitar riff that culminates into a groundswell of emotion you could almost drown in. It's self-indulgent powder pop with a twist of irony and I love it. ‘Running In Dreams' picks up the tempo with slightly edgy paranoid guitars constantly plucking at your subconscious. The album is best described as a mixture of emotions, with all colour of the rainbow present. The joy of 'Summer Jets', the longing of ‘Not Yourself', the melancholy of ‘Does This Have A Name' and the excitability of ‘I Wasn't Drinkin' But You Got Me Drunk'.

A great album, it would be a real shame if you let it slip you by.
