In a dust thick, abandoned barn somewhere in rural France, young Cecile Schott’s laptop lays, sad, silent and lonely, it’s poor mechanical brain busy wondering when its mother will return to collect it,

Cecile, however, has no interest in her laptop anymore. She is somewhere else in France. She cares no more for constrained electronic automaton.

Enthralled by the arcane sounds cast forth by her new muse, the viola da gamba,, Cecile imposes upon herself a strict rule set and sets about writing and recording music of an earthy, sonorous nature, mostly in the minor key, sad throughout.

Cecile may one day return to collect her laptop from that old abandoned barn. Until that time I listen, captivated by this primitive, haunting, music (silently hoping that she doesn’t make another album using only music boxes,).
