An invite to one of the most infamous music legends, Ian Hunter, former front man of Mott the Hoople didn’t disappoint. Behind the dark glasses and mass of golden tendrils lies formidable depth, introspection and musical talent rarely seen nowadays.

The great man was at his glorious best in an acoustic set that surpassed itself. The venue maybe a touch too pretentious for a man whose played and co-wrote with some of the greatest bands and musicians of all time – Bowie, Mick Ronson, Ozzy and so on.

'All the Young Dudes’, his timeless classic was pitch perfect and effortless. What comes through is him being one of life’s observers communicating through his scale of emotions, touched on in his songlist. Anger, love, death all play a strong part in Hunter’s style, simplistic with guitar in hand, harmonica attached and heartfelt classic songs mixed with some of his recent tracks from his new album, 'Shrunken Heads’.

Utter respect to a musician who has an untouched talent in producing a powerful set and an excellent night.
