If you're looking for a bit of a change from the norm, something a bit different to listen to, then look no further and check these guys out.
'My friend Jo' kicks in with the line "my friend Jo,is a crazy bitch" warbled by singer Jamie McDermott, backed up by a mish mash of contemporary and classical instruments creating a kind of audio pantomime in your head. I'm sure Jamie is probably sick of comparisons between his voice and Antony (of the Johnsons fame...) but it's almost uncanny, although 'My Friend Jo' skips along with a bit more tempo and urgency than a Johnsons number and a little more mischief.
This is the type of band I can imagine coming across in a tiny tent at Glastonbury, all dressed in Medievil costumes and mime acting between songs. Only to wake the next day and wonder if i'd dreamed the whole thing...
Not for everyones taste, but intriguing and brave all the same. Definitely worth checking out.
