'For this record, we really tried to create the type of pop that we wished we were hearing on the radio," said band member J. Paul Zawacki at some point. So naturally what we get is the polar opposite of what is deemed to be pop these days. No fat crunky beats with the vocals of a female barely past puberty singing about being a whore, while a rent-a-rapper finishes the tune by verbally taking a dump on it with his rhymes. I know; the cheek of it all.

America-based band The Procession's sound is, as their influences on their myspace indicate, a melding of Beach Boys and Weezer. This includes piano-led ditties about romance that amble along lazily while expecting you to be driving a car with no roof with the sun shining down and reflecting off your shades. 'Don't Let Go' is an unimaginative, though fitting tune to bring in the summer season, and perhaps this year's unseasonally warm planet might be a good omen for the band. The B side 'Don't Hesitate' is, like the main single, inconsequential pop: as in there will be no consequences to bopping along to it enthusiastically one minute then forgetting what you were listening to the next.
