On paper, Vato looks like a fantastic tune ' a combination of Pharrell’s midas touch production and rapping from the legendary Snoop Dogg and B Real from Cypress Hill.

Unfortunately, in practice Vato is far from fantastic. At almost five minutes, it’s far too long, almost five minutes too long, in fact. The track plods along without ever going anywhere and despite being hyped as a club track, this monotonous number is a surefire way to clear any dancefloor. With a dreary backing sample and the same old, tired lyrics referring to drive-by shootings and gangs etc etc, it doesn’t offer anything original or new.

Vato is not Pharrell, Snoop Dogg or B Real’s finest hour and even hardcore fans will be hard-pressed to muster up enough enthusiasm to buy this track.
