Hed Kandi (label)

The hugely successful Stereo Sushi imprint is now on it’s ninth release and this time round the Hed Kandi offshoot take things dark & dirty. Electro edged house has been the sound of choice for the cooler dancefloors of the UK & Ibiza this year and Sashimi delivers the definitive collection.
Pete Tong’s essential selection show on BBC radio1 is widely regarded as a barometer for what’s rocking in dance music and it’s a measure of this collection’s quality that many of the tracks have featured heavily on his show over the summer.
Highlights include Mason 'Exceeder’, the awesome Fedde le Grand 'Hands Up for Detroit’, 'Simpler’ from dance legend Pete Heller and my personal favourite Dark Mountain Group’s 'Lose Control’. They sit alongside the old skool piano stabs of Gurd & Robertson’s 'the rendition’ and the beautiful deep tech sound of Ame 'rej’.
Remixes come from the likes of D. Ramirez, Tiefschwarz & Tocadisco who are currently all at the top of their game.
It’s very difficult to find fault especially when all tracks are DJ friendly full 12' mixes. 5/5
