Last week two amazing bands played us back-to-back sets of covers in Corporation that were polished with a punk rock makeover, and the night was electric from start to finish.

Call It Off: Our supporting act travelled all the way from the Netherlands to bring their signature brand of Taylor Swift punk rock covers. While Punk Rock Factory were on home turf in the UK, with a set of creative covers across various genres.

The venue was rammed away before either act emerged onto the stage, but as the lights lowered and the anticipation rose, gig goers flocked to the stage to get themselves the best spot.

With clear excitement and energy, Call It Off entered the stage one by one to a sea of cheers and chanting. They launched into their first punk rock cover of the night, which was ‘Cruel Summer’. From the off, the band's vocals worked so well, especially during this track.

Moving through the set, we reached tracks like ‘Style’, ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘Opalite’, all songs which are the epitome of pop music, but the band put their own spin on each track, which bridged the gap between Swifties and punk fans. Call It Off’s energy never failed the entire set, only ever becoming more relentlessly energetic as they smashed and crashed at their instruments. I've never seen a band jump so much in my life and the crowd mirrored their excitement.

As if the roof of the Corporation wasn’t already going to blow off after the support got us fired up.Punk Rock Factory were next and instantly met with a warm Yorkshire welcome the second they stepped on the stage. Their set differed from Call It Off's, as they did a variety of covers from multiple artists, and the whole set felt full of nostalgia. The band's stage presence was like seasoned pros with their tongue-in-cheek interaction through the set.

It's not often a punk show is described as family-friendly yet riotous, but this show was exactly that with ‘The Flintstones Theme’ and the heavy cover of S Club's ‘Bring It All Back’, where the band were vocally the strongest. My favourite moment during their set was during their cover of 'Life Is Highway', the guitar riffs were so electrifying, coursing through the venue and the crowd were singing back every word clearly loving every moment of this track.

Punk Rock Factory closed their set on a cover of ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen, which seems like the most random crossover ever, but trust me, it worked.

I’d encourage anyone who gets the opportunity to go see these bands; it was unforgettable, and they did not disappoint.
