The Happy Together Tour has been a great summertime tradition for years. The tour is a package showcase mainly featuring bands from the 1960s. Based on The Turtles' biggest hit, "Happy Together", the band were most always the headlining act (save for the 1986 version, when the then reunited Monkees were the main attraction, making it one of the biggest tours that year). After a three-year run the mid-'80s, the Happy Together tour ended, only to reappear again in 2010.
Sadly, The Turtles are no longer a part of the tour. Mark Volman passed away in 2025, and lead singer Howard Kaylan retired from live performances in 2017.
The Happy Together Tour 2026 performed at Lynn Auditorium in Lynn, Massachusetts on July 29, 2026.
Eight total bands are included on this year's edition of the tour including: The Vogues, The Cowsills, Ron Dante, The Fortunes, Gary Puckett, Jason Scheff, The Troggs and The Association.
Each act takes the stage for a short set and performs their biggest hits. While every act was on their game this night, The Vogues nearly stole the show.
The current lineup of Troy Elich, Royce Taylor and Elliott McCoy were on fire, as they belted out classics as, "Five O'Clock World", "My Special Angel" "Turn Around, Look at Me" (originally done by Glen Campbell) and their cover of Petula Clark's "You're the One".
Not only do the Vogues possess pitch-perfect voices, they are great entertainers, especially Elich who infused a great deal of comedic moments in between the music.
The Cowsills came out strong with "The Rain, The Park and Other Things" and "Indian River". The group of Cowsill siblings (currently featuring Susan Cowsill, Bob Cowsill and Paul Cowsill) were the inspiration for "The Partridge Family" TV show (the Cowsill family was supposed to originally star in the show, but TV executives decided to go with David Cassidy and established actress, Shirley Jones).
Speaking of TV shows, the trio finished up with the theme from the '70s romantic-sitcom, "Love American Style" and finished with their chart-topping version of "Hair."
Ron Dante was up next and he has been subbing for Kaylan as a vocalist for The Turtles' numbers. Beginning with the Turtles' hit, "She'd Rather Be With Me," The Cufflinks (Dante's former band) "Tracy", and The Archie's "Sugar Sugar" (Dante did the lead vocal on the original song, Dante's voice is as strong as ever.
The Fortunes followed and rifled off their biggest successes including: "You've Got Your Troubles" and "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again". The quartet currently features members Michael Smitham (guitars/vocals), Eddie Mooney (lead vocals/bass), Glenn Taylor (drums), and Chris Hutchison (keyboards/vocals).
After a short break, the iconic Gary Puckett emerged with a four song set, beginning with "Lady Willpower' "Over You", "Woman, Woman" (an ode to a jealous man obsessing over a lover he fears is straying) and the mega-hit, "Young Girl." The eternally youthful-looking Puckett is currently 84 years old, but has changed very little since his debut in 1964.
Former Chicago vocalist Jason Scheff (he replaced Peter Cetera in 1985) was another major highlight as he banged out Chicago standards as "Just You N' Me", ,"Saturday in the Park", "If You Leave Me Now" (Chicago's first number one hit in 1976) and did a frantic version of "25 or 6 To 4" (during which guitarist Geoffrey Townsend did a spectacular job recreating the guitar solo by the late guitar master, Terry Kath).
The Troggs featuring Chris Allen (lead vocals/bass and Stu Clark (guitar/vocals) recreate the band's glory days. Allen has quite the charismatic presence and added a lot of charm to "Love Is All Around" and the power-pop ditty, "With a Girl Like You", and added a bit of punk energy to "Wild Thing".
The Association, one of the mainstays of the Happy Together tour, ran through pop-filled feel good numbers as, "Windy," and soft rock ballads, "Never My Love", and "Cherish", before ending with the psychedelic-lite cut, "Along Comes Mary".
To end the show, Dante returned to sing a version of "Happy Together," during with all acts returned one by one to the stage (each one singing a snippet of their biggest hit) until all members were present and finished the "Happy Together" song as one, making it the most enjoyable and nostalgic concert of the summer.
