Daydreamers, the fast-rising North London-based indie-pop outfit, packed out the iconic 100 Club last night, proving exactly why they are one of the most exciting new guitar acts in the country. Following their self-titled debut EP in 2024 and the standout success of single “Call Me Up,” the band has gone from strength to strength. Having previously only released short-form projects, Daydreamers boldly dropped their 11-song, 35-minute debut album, Have You Tried Screaming?, at the end of June 2026.

Despite the ongoing London heatwave outside, the crowd inside the legendary basement venue was treated to a remarkably well-air-conditioned, intimate setting. The special event, hosted by the Big Dork Summer Series, felt like a celebratory homecoming. Having first discovered the band in this exact spot back in 2024 when they opened for Pale Waves, returning to see them headline felt like a testament to why music fans should always catch the opening acts. The atmosphere was purely euphoric, filled with swaying friends and couples singing their hearts out to well-crafted songs that strike an immediate chord.

Musically, the four-piece—comprising frontman Riley, guitarist Marco, bassist Aurora, and drummer Jay—delivered a masterclass in modern indie-pop. Driving rhythms repeatedly pushed the performance forward, while smooth, soothing lyrics guided the way through immersive stories. A particular standout of the set was the brilliant new album track, “She’s a Time I’m Living In.” Hearing it live was an incredible experience, as the softer, melodic verses masterfully built into a soaring chorus where the whole band collided into punchy guitar riffs and an infectious, immersive drumbeat.

The emotional depth of the title track, "Have You Tried Screaming?", further cemented the band's ability to seamlessly blend nostalgic guitar hooks with deeply human storytelling. Daydreamers make the kind of music designed to bring people together, and last night proved they have the live presence to match their massive social media momentum. They are a fantastic up-and-coming band, and with a full UK tour scheduled for December this year, we highly recommend catching them in these intimate, smaller settings while you still can.
