Alternative London/Lithuanian duo Good Health Good Wealth delivered a brilliant performance at Yellow Arch Studios on the 22nd of March, leaving all in attendance completely satisfied.
The venue was packed in as soon as doors opened at 7:30am to see support acts, the first support act being Your Mate’s Ex.
It may have been a Sunday, but this duo got the crowd moving with their electro-pop sound, decked out in shades looking so sleek. The singer in the duo had amazing stage presence, giving off the essence of the Brat album by Charli XCX, and with original tracks like ‘Get Wet', the band are comparable to Confidence Man in their sound and style.
With the crowd warmed up, it was time for our second act, The Cheap Thrills.
This indie band completely changed the vibe with their heavy guitar riffs and sleek lyricism. They had high energy and stage presence, getting the crowd to get their hands in the air. They rounded off their set nicely with their original rock anthem ‘Codepence’.
Just from the supporting act, it already felt like an unforgettable night, and the crowd was so raring to go as we waited for Good Health Good Wealth to grace the stage.
As the stage lit up, the band entered the stage, and punters went wild, giving them a proper Sheffield welcome.
Good Health Good Wealth demonstrated how unique they are and how no one is doing it like them from the outset. Their sound to me sounds like a combination between The Streets, The Twang and Ren's style, with some songs being almost spoken word layered over beats, such as ‘Beautiful Boy’, and some songs being more indie rock style, such as ‘Love Hangover’.
The highlight of the set has to be the song ‘Beautiful Boy', a song that is not only devastatingly beautiful but also carefully crafted with this consistent drum beat and sleek guitar riff.
As the band finished off their versatile set, the crowd dispersed, but I think it's safe to say no one wanted this night to end, and all three acts are definitely ones to watch.
