One of Australia’s finest bands and a household name in indie music across the globe, DMA’s played Victoria Warehouse on Sunday, 15 February, and the energy was electric.

The venue was already busy when we arrived just after doors, in time for the support slot from Salarymen. The band moved through their discography of indie tracks with a mix of lead vocals and quickly got the crowd on their side, with more people pouring into the room with each song.

As the venue became more packed and time moved on, the atmosphere grew increasingly ecstatic, with the crowd waiting for DMA’s to grace the stage for their second show at this venue, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their first album, ‘Hills End’.

The venue lights softened and the stage lit up, marking the moment for the band’s big entrance to a sea of adoring fans. As they came on stage, they were met by a roar of cheers and chants of “D D DMA’S / D D DMA’s”.

DMA’s launched into the first track of the set, ‘Timeless’, the opener to the album that set them on this trajectory of success. Red light shone down on the band as they gave their all to their instruments and held the crowd in the palm of their hands through their confident stage presence.

Next up was ‘Lay Down’, as many mounted their mates’ shoulders, ready to bounce around the venue like it was 2016 again and we were just discovering these legends for the first time. A magical moment came during ‘Delete’, as the crowd clustered together arm in arm for the heartfelt, emotional track that we all fell head over heels for ten years ago, and the love has never faltered.

DMA’s also played an array of fan favourites such as ‘Silver’ and treated us to tracks from their first EP, including ‘Feels Like 37’.

A phenomenal band who delivered nothing short of a spectacular show that will echo in our minds for the foreseeable future.
