Over one thousand people chose to spend their Valentine’s Day on a date with The Beaches, and everyone left head over heels in love with Canada’s sweethearts.
In tonight’s supporting slot were Irish rock duo Dea Matrona, who won over the crowd with their energetic, fast-paced, gritty sound.
As the music came to a close and the stage lights lowered, everyone packed into the pit and around the sides, eyes transfixed on the stage, ready for The Beaches.
The sound of a ringing telephone alerted us that they were ready to grace the stage and, as Kylie, Eliza and Leandra walked up to the crowd, everyone was screaming, giving them a proper Yorkshire welcome.
Jordan Miller ran onto the stage and the band jumped straight into ‘Last Girls at the Party’, one of their most popular tracks from their latest album, ‘No Hard Feelings’. The band and crowd mirrored each other’s ecstatic energy, chanting the chorus, ‘Gonna be the last girls at the party’, over and over.
During ‘Touch Myself’, sisters Kylie and Jordan exuded a clear love for performing together, and it was heartwarming to see.
The Beaches may have been promoting their latest album, but they also treated us to many fan favourites from their second album, ‘Blame My Ex’, such as ‘Me & Me’ and ‘Shower Beer’.
One special moment came before they played ‘Lesbian of the Year’, a heartfelt, emotional ballad about Leandra’s queer identity. The band crowned one member of the crowd as the lesbian of the year, to which the audience erupted in cheers.
Towards the end of the set, we reached a song many had been waiting for: the band’s most popular track, ‘Blame Brett’, which marked a pivotal point in their success. As the band played the pre-chorus, Leandra and Kylie performed their live tradition of jumping while playing guitar from one side of the stage to the other, and fans lapped it up.
The final song the band played was another new track, ‘Sorry For Your Loss’, before finishing with a reprise of ‘Last Girls at the Party’. An evening truly no one wanted to end.
Easily the best live show of 2026 so far!
