Laurence Jones has been accruing awards and plaudits throughout his career, but this last year has been a very tough one for him as he has been repeated hospitalized with Crohn’s Disease.
This new single – the first from his upcoming new album due for release in late January – is an acoustic Blues, very much taken from his experiences recently and over the years.

It is a slow Blues, solo and stark, with Jones clearly making the point that he feels the point has been reached where he needs to make his own music, his own way.

Laurence says “I’ve been lucky enough to be signed to major record labels from the age of 18, I’ve been on an incredible journey which I’m very grateful for and learnt a lot in the studio, I’ve signed 4 record & 5 publishing contracts over my 15 year career. I wanted to finally own the music I make and give back something special to my fans. The hardest things in life are the simplest things, and I really hope this album comes across authentic, real, and tells a story about my journey with my Crohn’s disease, life on the road and love! It’s one of my proudest moments to be able to release this whole project under my own record label, work close with the venues and have a small team around me that I trust. I’ve found it very hard with my Crohn’s to be on the road with long journeys and the constant toll the band takes physically on my body. I want the show to have an intimate feeling but at the same time I’m always ready to blues rock it, this time a bit more traditional”.

It is also a damn fine listen.
