Red Rum Club are currently touring their fifth studio album 'BUCK', alongside other fan favourites and I went down to their Sheffield date to join the fun.
After another great success for the Liverpool-hailing sextet, fans are packed into the Foundry in Sheffield tonight eagerly awaiting the arrival of the band.
First up, Brogeal are in tonight’s supporting slot and they enter the stage with the confidence of headliners.
With an assortment of instruments and the charm of Falkirk inherent in their sound and roots, Brogeal took the crowd by storm with an array song such as, ‘Friday On My Mind’ and ‘Vicar Street Days’ recently released ahead of their debut album which will be release later this month.
As the band finish their set the crowd disperses for a final refreshment before Red Rum Club grace us with their presence.
Light’s lower and tensions rise, Red Rum Club enter the stage and track one to kick off this highly anticipating evening is ‘Buck’ the lead single of their latest album. As the band exuberate energy, the crowd mirror this energy bouncing around and singing back to the band while they are playing their instruments full of power and precision.
Moving through the setlist, we reach a clear fan favourite ‘Eleanor’ one of the band’s biggest hits, and prior to the show, fans were given the choice on an Instagram poll between the songs ‘Taste’ and ‘Trouble in the Neighbourhood’, with the social users choosing the latter and it’s clear from many fans reactions they were ecstatic this was the chosen song.
Likewise, prior to the show the bands were also given the choice between voting for ‘Angeline’ and ‘Matador’, with the fans choosing ‘Angeline’, making the track its debut on this tour.
The band finished off the evening with ‘Vanilla’ – a high energy, tongue in cheek song with perfect layering and sections which is impossible not to love and a brilliant end to a great show.
