RED RUM CLUB have released their fifth studio album 'BUCK', and it's another great success for the Liverpool-hailing sextet.

The album kicks off with 'Crush' that instantly draws the listener in with this pristine riff that courses through your mind and veins. As the other instruments join the jam it's electrifying to consume and leaves us begging for more. A masterclass opener from RRC.

As we reach 'Taste', the influence of The White Stripes in this band's music is clear as day and when the vocals join the mix it's the cherry on top. Red Rum Club are heavy, loud and commanding, arguably one of the best bands in the UK right now in my opinion.

'Buck' is sleek and chill incorporating this sound that would fit so well in a Spaghetti Western film, and 'Call Me On Your Comedown' offers a new vibe as the pace cools down and we enter a more dream-like floating instrumental, one of the most paired back songs on this album, but it demonstrates how well this band can adapt and the variety they offer.

For me, the crown jewel of this album is 'Vanilla'. The deep, rumbling base meeting the sleek and sultry vocals is undeniably enticing. The chorus with the snapping of fingers is so effortless cool and delicious, and the lyrics are so clever but fun, "She said, "My darling, my dear, I'm filled with a fear / Concerning a flaw that continues to appear/ You're living for Monday, your living is mundane / Your presence is a killer, your flavour, vanilla", it's probably one of the best songs of 2025 for me.

The band are embarking on a nationwide tour this autumn and I can't wait to hear these songs live!
