Andrew Pipe is one of the few British guitarists that are as capable in the Blues or rock or Prog forms.

Starting out with The Mentulls, with brother Jamie on keyboards, and on through many collaborations and, most recently, his first solo single ‘The Voyage’, I have enjoyed the fluid and flexible playing that he has made his own.

‘Nexus’ is essentially an homage to his guitar heroes. "All of my favourite guitarists have that very melodic sensibility, knowing when to play what's needed and also when to let loose. I tried to capture that the best I could here" says Andrew.

Along with bass player Steve Amadeo and drummer Damon Clarridge, the single is an airy and atmospheric sojourn. Dynamic in parts and drifting meaningfully in others, he has created a piece that is purely for the head.

I don’t often listen to a piece over and over again, but this is one track that is well worth it.
A joy to listen to and a real statement piece.
