David Sinclair has always been one of those artists that is true to the spirit of the Blues. He writes songs about the human condition, about feelings and about being – and he does it with a terrific band around him too.

“This song was inspired in the first instance by my brilliant band, the David Sinclair Four,” says Sinclair. “It’s about being one person with one pair of hands. They’re capable hands - no complaints - but there’s only so much I can do on my own. Thankfully, I’ve got my rock & roll band to help me ‘see it through to the end…’”

On a deeper level, the track is a personal reckoning. “It’s an emotional stock-take written at a time of life that only the lucky ones get to reach,” Sinclair continues. “There’s a strong mix of frustration and determination in the lyrics. This is the 66th track I’ve released under my own name, and somehow it still feels like a big new chance. ‘Looking back you can see just how far you’ve come / Look ahead and it’s like you’ve only just begun…’'

In a kind of rolling, sauntering, easy groove, ‘(I Only Got) One Pair Of Hands’ is all about resilience and willingness, about understanding your limitations.
Sinclair sits comfortably in the singer/songwriter slot, while his band takes it all into a Blues/Rock vein. This is all about the story and a real one too.
Co-written with Geoff Peel (DS4’s guitarist) and with Bass: Derek White. Drums: Jack Sinclair, Backing Vocals: Georgie Webb.
The playing is superb, especially Peel’s guitar solo. The groove that Sinclair & White produce is contagious, you find yourself physically following their rhythm.

Jack Sinclair produced this as well and he has managed a very seventies sound, none of the digital artefactery going on here.

One of the singles this year that have actually been worth more than a cursory listen.
