BLUDFEST was a BLAST - it was pure madness and fun. This year marked the second year of artist, YUNGBLUD, hosting his very own festival at the Milton Keynes National Bowl. The festival is like no other, it brings a community of people together who share the same love for the same genre of music. With the Make A Friend tent doubling in size since last year, it was heaving with people. There really was a friendly and positive atmosphere all around. People queueing up by the post box to send their new friends letters that will be delivered to their door, as well as trained mental health advisors from Mind inside the tent, to provide a safe space to the event go-oers to relax.

Of course the day was even better with the sun shining and YUNGBLUD took care of his fans, making sure there were plenty of places to fill up water, have a sit down in the shade and grab some delicious food from any of the street vans.

Throughout the day there was huge queues for Spud Man, the jacket potato phenomenon, and he did not disappoint! Many people were sat on the hill listening to the music on the main stage whilst eating their spuds.

One of the most popular attractions at BLUDFEST is it’s very own Hawley Arms, YUNGBLUD’s favourite pub in Camden. It formed as part of a “mini Camden” section of the festival. The vibe was electric once you beat the queues and managed to get inside!

Another brilliant part of the this year’s festival is the skate ramp, which everyone was enjoying, from little kids to avid skaters!

There was an incredible line up of artists and with two stages, there was plenty to see. The music began at 1pm, with Elin Hall on the main stage. We had the amazing Denzel Curry rapping and bringing the upbeat vibes to the stage. To then have Blackbear performing for the first time in 3 years (as he said on stage), it looked like it even brought tears to his eyes at one point. Blackbear took us all the way back to 2015 with 'idfc' and the whole crowd was singing along. Chase Atlantic performed for the first time, their new song, Face Down. Mitchel, the lead singer, told us fans how good it felt to perform it live. During their performance they were bringing the energy, the set was fire - no really, there was lots of smoke and fire effects throughout.

Then as the evening progressed we finally had the incredible YUNGBLUD himself run onto the stage. With his album release only being the day before, he debuted songs such as The Greatest Parade. The crowd went absolutely wild when he brought out the one and only Billy Idol to cover White Wedding.

BLUDFEST feels like a place where people have the opportunity to really express themselves. YUNGBLUD truly has created that safe space in the form of a festival. Bring on next year!
