Get Together Festival returned to Kelham Island, Sheffield, for its fifth year running and it was another victorious occasion for the organisers.

An area filled with craft beer, artwork, industrial heritage in the inner-city area of Sheffield feels like a brilliant place to set up 6 stages and a pop up venue, and this certainly went down a treat with the attendees.

The line was jam packed with a whole host of big names including: English Teacher, Divorce, HotWax and Swim Deep, as well as grassroots bands and upcoming artists such as The Pill, Gravy and Neighbourhood Voices.

There were a few particularly standout sets for me, the first one being April Tapes. A set packed with heavy guitars and fresh energy. An air of summer vibes with a clear influence of The Cribs. The most special moment was during an acoustic track having the crowd zoned and locked in.

Moonlandingz also provided a brilliant set at Get Together. Dressed in unique, fun outfits already had the crowd intrigued. The crowd were hooked and the energy was high on the band exuberating creativity and joy.

White Horse were also a notable band of this year’s fest. Fronted by the lead single who use to be in Blinders, they opened their set with a soulful song they transitioned seamlessly into a groovy, hip sound. Some tracks even comparable in sound to Sheffield Legends Arctic Monkeys.

Finally, and my personal favourite part of this festival, was Swim Deep. The band opened their set strong, but the set also had immense layers and a psychological air to it as well. They dedicated a song to the late, great Leadmill which recently lost their court case to Electric Group - something felt so strongly by locals.

A brilliant way to end a great festival.
