Rock & Roll is a form that has no end of variations, but, at its heart, it is pretty simple – a solid beat, a swinging rhythm and a dancing crowd. It isn’t music to be endlessly discussed, and it isn’t music to have bells and whistles.
One of the things I like best about Tex & The Troubadours is that they understand these simple rules and play with real verve and heart.

The three guys who make up the band have a long history with Teddy Boy Rock & Roll, Rockabilly, Psychobilly and the rest, and the sound that they are laying down is stripped back and pure – they sound as though they are in a happy place with their music.
The band consist of Troubadour Tex on guitar and vocals, Wildman Nick on bass and Nige on drums, not forgetting legendary producer Paul “Doc” Stewart, all steeped in Rock & Roll as well as playing with the cream of the music world and West End musicals as well.

The album consists of a number of originals as well as a few classics, all in a classic Rock & Roll style. The originals such as ‘Washing Boogie’ or ‘Living On Rock & Roll’ stand up well against ‘Drinking Wine Spodee Odee’ or ‘Call Me The Breeze’, every number supplying that essential ‘danceability’.

Good music is good music, no matter what style or genre. Tex & the Troubadours play good music in a Rock & Roll style. Surely, that is all you could want?
