Clean Cut Kid on the red carpet at The Music Producers Guild Awards being held at The Troxy, East London on Thursday 24th April 2025, nominated and later winning Self-Producing Artist Award.
The Music Producers Guild (MPG), in association with Dolby and Mix With The Masters, unveiled the winners of the 2025 MPG Awards at a sold-out celebration at The Troxy in East London. The event honoured the producers, engineers, and studios defining the future of recorded music.
Leading the night’s honours, A. G. Cook was named Producer of the Year, praised for his innovative work at the cutting edge of electronic pop, including collaborations with Charli XCX. Fellow Dux Content member Danny L Harle was awarded Writer-Producer of the Year.
Two new categories were introduced this year to highlight the impact of diverse recording environments. Guy Chambers’ Sleeper Sounds won Small Commercial Studio of the Year, while Paul Epworth’s The Church Studios claimed Large Commercial Studio of the Year.
Recognising rising stars, Isabel Gracefield took home Breakthrough Producer of the Year, and Animesh Raval earned Breakthrough Engineer of the Year, presented by acclaimed producer Fraser T Smith.
A moving highlight came when Woody Cook presented his father, Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), with the Outstanding Contribution to UK Music Award. Elsewhere, Paul Epworth received the MPG Icon Award, MNEK was named Vocal Producer of the Year, and Lauren Laverne accepted the Special Recognition Award, presented by Guy Garvey.
The ceremony also became a platform for protest against AI's unchecked use of music content. Stars including Peter Gabriel and Norman Cook held placards backing the Make It Fair: Don’t Let AI Steal Our Music campaign, urging that music creators – not just labels – have a say in the debate.
Catherine Marks, Executive Director of the MPG, reflected: "The 2025 MPG Awards was a powerful reminder of the incredible talent and dedication driving our industry. From trailblazers to future stars, it was a night celebrating the people and studios shaping the sound of tomorrow."
