No secret, I adore Joanne Shaw Taylor’s music. I’ve seen her grow from a teen when her dusky vocals and stunning rhythm guitar blessed the 2013 Blues Caravan – alongside Oli Brown and Erja Lyytinen – and also when she played an acoustic set in support of Joe Bonamassa at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire. the same year

This new single, the last off her new album ‘Heavy Soul’, has much of the classic JST trademarks but she has also added a terrific sense of pop and how to put over a single that will make her audience dance.
The track is further enriched by its joyful and inspirational lyrics, penned with the help of the legendary songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman, (Bonnie Raitt, Elton John, Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood) which explores the vulnerability and courage involved in opening up to love.
“Change of Heart is one of my favourite songs on the album,” Joanne shares. “It's about meeting someone who makes you want to risk your heart again, despite past hurts. Beth's lyrical genius really brought the emotion of the song to life."

Produced by Kevin Shirley and on Joe Bonamassa’s label, she has the right team working with her and, in common with the other singles off ‘Heavy Soul’, she seems to be at a creative peak right now.
