Holly Lerski has been around for a while, the founder member of Angelou who had a few successful albums between 1996 and 2008 before she broke the band up. She released a solo album in 2015, which was very well received at the time.

This album is, essentially, a road movie that documents a solo trip she made, across unknown territory, wandering the West Coast of the US by train, bus & car. She took the trip after a savage breakup, and the raw emotions definitely show themselves at different points of the trip.
The album is her fifth altogether and marks a return to the music business, with her own label and this album.
It was recorded in Nashville with producer Matthew 'Truck' Roley and musicians Josh Hunt (drums), Alex McCollough (pedal steel), Abby Dees, Scott Roley, Kate Urmy, and Milwaukee SistaStrings Chauntee and Monique Ross.

She has a sweet voice and a gentle manner of playing. The songs have the feel of being slightly autobiographical, and you definitely get the sequence of a huge road trip.
I found it grew on me, I was discovering different elements with every listen to the album, and I must admit to some surprise that I was noticing little lyrical snatches on the fourth and fifth and sixth play throughs.
Favourite tracks include ‘Tall Trees’, one of the most alt-country numbers and the title track which has a gently wistful feel to it.

It is a delightful album, made all the better because it has a personal touch.
