The very thought of a collaboration between Joe Bonamassa and Peter Frampton is enough to set this reviewer positively drooling with delight. Not a pretty sight but the single – a version of Humble Pie’s ‘Four Day Creep’ – is a total stunner.

It is about as classic as classic rock can get – riffs, power vocals, driving percussion. The only thing missing is Stevie Marriot’s vocals but Bonamassa does a creditable lead vocal and Frampton weighs in although his voice is a little less solid than it used to be. But the guitars. Two stone masters of the 6 string playing with each other, against each other and trading licks like Frampton & Marriot back in the day.

It all comes on the heels of the 2024 Blues Music Award nominations, where Joe earned nods for both Blues Rock Artist and Blues Rock Album and announced 2 more shows at the Royal Albert Hall on April 4th & 5th. Order tickets from here
