One of the finest ‘shredders’ Chris Impelliteri, has had a prolific career and this box set brings together, for the first time outside of Japan, every Impellitteri album and EP release between the band’ debut in 1987 until 2009’s ‘Wicked Maiden’.
It is fascinating to look at the progression between his first album ‘Stand In Line’, where he sits very much in the more melodic side of heavy metal, through to 2009’s ‘Wicked Maiden’ where the band are harder, faster and more explosive, although also capable of more subtle moments even so.
Over the years covered here, vocals were supplied by either Graham Bonnet (ex Rainbow) or Rob Rock.

Chris Impelliteri was an instant fan favourite, often voted fastest guitarist in the world and favourably compared bith the likes of Steve Vai & Yngwie Malmsteen. He was voted into the Heavy Metal Hall Of Fame this year.

There is enough variation to make these 6 discs worth trawling through and more than a few standout numbers. A stunning version of ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ shows his pure skills while ‘Beware The Devil’ shows just how heavy a guitarist Impelliteri can be. ‘Speed Demon’ has the feel of Deep Purple at their very best, and, a personal favourite, ‘Rock & Roll Heroes’ has echoes of early Metallica.
It is scattered through with - period appropriate – bonus tracks and live numbers, the whole package giving a great look at the career of a metal master.
