Hauntingly poignant the Scandinavian Ane Brun infers a sense of unease in her minimalist acoustic melodies. The follow-up to her debut album 'Spending Time With Morgan' this new offering has shown early promise by charting at number 1 in Norway alongside critical acclaim. Her unashamedly vunerable voice almost trembles with a fragile resilience that cements the whole album. There is a lurking exasperation entwined within 'A Temporary Drive' as suggested by song titles such as 'Where Friend Rhymes With End', 'My Lover Will Go', 'On Off' and 'Humming One Of Your Songs'. During 'My Lover Will Go' I'm engulfed by an urge to throw my arms around her and tell her everything will be alright. This said there is a world of peaceful freedom to be found nestling within and if like myself you enjoy that musical hinterland that lays between sadness and despair this album is for you.
