I have never heard Nuala before but after this magnificent & haunting single I will be searching out more.

She has a voice that reminds me of a young Sinead O’Connor, that slightly husky but utterly pure tone coupled with the ability to sing in a manner that gets to the very core of the listener’s soul.

The Brian Eno mix follows the listener and just takes root in your psyche, the single has a mystical and ethereal resonance.

Nuala was brought up a Catholic and the song feels almost confessional, originally written as a poem it has the type of poetic rhythm that songs written as songs just don’t.

It is a debut release but, with an album due in 2020, I think this will be the beginning of something really special.
