Giant Drag, fronted by Annie Hardy, are getting on the indie/rock map for being yet another boy/girl duo, but unlike The Kills, The White Stripes etc there is less misogyny here, Annie is duly cynical but maintains the soft, feminine edge.

She has got a similar sound to that of PJ Harvey, but personally I think they sound closest to the Smashing Pumpkins. She has that same almost-scratchy but sexy raspy voice that breaks occasionally to give her a harder quality.

The rawness of her voice is backed up by the simple collection of chord arrangements provided by Hardy, while Micah Calabrese, despite having tried to leave once upon a time, is now officially her partner in crime, providing drums and synth, which he is renowned for playing simultaneously. Clever boy.

They are a bit samey, and probably think they are edgier than they are, but maybe this anti-love song is one of the softer tracks.
