A-ha release ‘Cosy Prisons' off their latest offering ‘Analogue' which saw them return to the charts amid critical acclaim too. A band who were always richer and more complex than the superficial heart throb, pop sheen presented to Joe Public, they have, even in their hey-day, always had a feel for darker, more layered songs, especially lyrically. I remember seeing them live in their glamour years and Morten Harket was so shy, he sang with his back to the audience for over 50% of the time on stage. They certainly did not look for the camera like the Durans.
Well this track is another slab of their rather cultured pop, with interesting backing vocals from Graham Nash, certainly adding weight to their vinyl presence. Good song with thoughtful lyrical images, it's a welcome addition to their catalogue. A pop band still growing strong.
