These boys sure do rock and they groove too! Who needs guitars?
This slightly more laid back second album (than their debut “Do Rabbits Wonder” from 2003) finds the Heat in fine form indeed. 11 tracks clocking in at under 43 minutes - a far cry from their 10 tracks 10 minutes “Flaming Honey”. This is a fabulous album. Imagine this - Velvet Underground never happened in 1966! They were cryogenically frozen en-mass and thawed in 2006 (along with a little bit of Cake left in by mistake). All the tracks are excellent but particular mention must go to the current single “Reagan”, “Air Miami” and “Gene Pool Style”. “The Sun is Round” could teach Seasame Street a thing or two about the alphabet!!
It makes a change for a band to create something a bit edgy and also abandons the formulaic 2 guitars, bass and drums. Hot hot Heat!
