Ben Harper flits from musical style to style as a bee skips from flower to flower. ‘Better Way' could almost be Gomez, the doubled up bluesy vocals, percussion and hint of the orient are palpable in what is an eminently enticing entre for the new album ‘Both Sides Of The Gun'. The acoustic guitars bring to mind an around-the-bonfire jam, which then briefly mutates into a Kravitz like scream-along before closing on some hardcore drums. I tip my hat to one of the most underrated musicians of our time, who still chooses to keep commercialism at bay.
