An interesting combination of hardcore garage rock, with a sprinkle of blues creates the unique duo Boy From The Crowd. Their debut EP ‘Where The Bees Come To Die’ is just what the world has been waiting for. The East London lads have constructed an eclectic 5 track EP that will be the starting point of their career. Vinny Piana (vocals, guitar, bass, keys) and Vegas Ivy (drums and percussion) bombard you with corpulent bass lines, terrifying riffs and addictive beats so that you’re forced to abuse the play button.

Heavy punk track ‘Revelator’ has returned after being released as a single. A hefty melody and invigorating chorus captures your attention immediately making it a cracking start to the EP. The edgy track is overflowing with raw vocals with striking similarities to the 70s legend Bowie.

Vinny’s phenomenal vocals are fully revealed in ‘All I Need’ after a Hendrix-esque intro with catchy heavy riffs infiltrating your ear drums. Vinny’s raw modulated vocals soon become gravely and gritty as he spits each lyric out. The song thrashes back and forth between emotions with such passion that you're left exhausted by the end. If this isn’t the sign of an unforgettable track, then I don’t know what is.

‘The Road’ takes a completely different route with a bluesy undertone alongside a brief but dominating smoky guitar solo, creating the blues rock hybrid that they have so uniquely captured.

‘All I Need’ is revisited as a single edition and although a lot simpler to the other version, the track is strikingly gritty and edgy. Vinny sings completely a cappella at points, which really grabs your attention and shows just how talented he is.

Bringing the EP to a close is ‘Where The Bees Come To Die’. The whole track is an instrumental, which you hardly see nowadays but Boy From The Crowd have confidently brought it back. With some moody but impressive guitar work intertwined with Ivy’s dynamic drums, the track is the definition of tranquility. This serenity is suddenly destroyed with edgy riffs and brutal beats making it the most unique song on the EP. Overpowered with blues elements, the punk sound is completely disregarded in this song showing just how eclectic Boy From The Crowd are.

‘Where The Bees Come To Die’ is the sort of EP you would expect from a well established experienced band. The fact this is a debut EP is unbelievable. Boy From The Crowd have produced something of such maturity, passion and diversity that excitement for more music is already brewing. Take punk rock, add a pinch of blues, sprinkle some garage rock vibes in there and give it a good old mix and there you have ‘Where The Bees Come To Die’.
