An English country duo isn’t something you hear often in England but over the last few years The Shires have tried to bring country back. Consisting of Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes, The Shires have been supported by BBC 2 after their release of their debut album ‘Brave’. To celebrate their break through year, ‘I Just Wanna Love You’ single will be released October 30th.
Throw away the typical yee-har tobacco chewing country song stereotypes you have as The Shires have brought country music back with a new sort of style. The incredibly relaxing ballad demonstrates just how well Earle and Rhodes vocals complement each other but still shine through on their own throughout the verses. Soothing piano medleys alongside breath taking harmonies just proves that The Shires deserve their title of the first British country band ever to hit the top ten on the Official UK Album Charts.
I never thought I’d see the day that I would enjoy a country song but The Shires have gone and transformed me. With lyrics practically made for a wedding’s first dance and stunning vocals, the single is hard to fault.
