Built on fear and torment brought on by the possibility that he may never sing again following a throat operation and long recovery period, TZ, KA is an EP that plumbs deep trenches. It’s gloomy but healthily countered with lots of colour and good vibes.

Drawing on the Vienna electronic scene, the EP is heavily biased towards that though it’s not devoid of a heart as it can sometimes sound. The opening (title track) is a gentle synth based song that’s probably more about letting Inner Tongue sing, than the rather thin musical accompaniment. Fallen Empire is a meatier song, slightly darker hue, heavy on atmosphere with a simple beat running (annoying?) in the background.

Somebody Knows It closes the EP with a piano led intro and a nice percussion accompaniment it builds on the subtle use of synths into quite an uplifting song.

The gut reaction is that this is an EP borne out of relief and that Inner Tongue is just really glad to be able to sing again.
