Capital’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone is back! The countdown to this summer’s biggest party started on the Capital London Breakfast Show this morning as Dave Berry, George and Lilah revealed the first huge names on the line-up.
The UK’s favourite girl group Little Mix was the first act announced this morning. With three platinum albums and eight top 10 singles under their belt, the ‘Black Magic’ foursome will perform for more than 80,000 Capital listeners at Wembley stadium this summer. Fresh from their ‘Get Weird’ tour, the girls are in full live mode and it’s sure to be another unforgettable performance from the supergroup.
Up next was news that Mike Posner will be jetting in from LA to get the party going with tracks including his newest single ‘In Ibiza,’ which leapt to number one on The Vodafone Big Top 40 earlier this month. The ‘Cooler Than Me’ star will also perform that smash hit and it’s sure to get Wembley moving.
Next up, Craig David’s unstoppable chart comeback just got even bigger with the news that he will be performing at Capital’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone. With three multi-platinum albums and 18 UK top 40 singles, Craig David has sold more than 13 million records worldwide to date. Capital listeners can expect to hear some R&B throwbacks alongside dance hits from his 2016 comeback album ‘Following My Intuition’ including ‘When the Bassline Drops’ and ‘Nothing Like This’.
Dave, George and Lilah went on to reveal that British breakthrough DJ and producer Sigala will be making his debut at Capital’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone this summer. Sigala shot to fame in 2015 with his number one single ‘Easy Love’. His collaboration with DJ Fresh ‘Say You Do’ also won him the number one spot in The Vodafone Big Top 40 last month. The talented UK artist spoke to Capital about performing at Capital’s Summertime Ball: “It's going to be absolutely amazing, its definitely going to be the biggest gig I've done so far, I'm really looking forward to it.”
The next artist announced was chart newcomer Nathan Sykes, who is no stranger to the Wembley Stadium stage. The former Wanted member has graced Capital’s Summertime Ball stage several times and recently toured with the Little Mix girls. With hits like ‘Kiss Me Quick’, ‘Over and Over Again’, which features US pop princess Ariana Grande, and his most recent single ‘Give It Up’ which features G-Eazy, the British sensation spoke to Capital about performing at Capital’s Summertime Ball: “I don’t think there’s anything that can beat it…. performing in front of 80,000 people, with everyone there for a great time! I can’t wait.”
To complete the Monday morning reveal, the Capital London Breakfast Show trio announced that legendary US rapper Flo Rida is joining the superstar line-up. With more than 80 million digital sales worldwide, Flo Rida’s hit anthems including ‘Right Round’, ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’ and ‘Wild Ones’ will get the crowd dancing at this summer’s biggest party.
