The Family Doom is an extremely eclectic act, centered around the figure of composer, song-writer and musician Tanner Dean. Originally formed with the intent of being an electronic duo with drummer, Sonny Ruiz, it evolved into a full five piece live band featuring singer/songwriter Dan Coffman, keyboardist Vic Steve, and bassist Will Sparrow.

The music owes as much to the 90s shoegaze scene (think My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver or Slowdive) as it does to the electronic contamination brought in by artists the likes of Radiohead and The Postal Service, who brought a new dimension to the way elements of electronica (synths and drum-machines, above all) went to affect patterns and song-writing tendencies typical of alternative rock. The Family Doom swings unpredictably from gritty, lo-fi electro-pop moments, to long psychedelic jams echoing Animal Collective or The Flaming Lips.

The Family Doom is currently working on new music, as well as on a live installation, offering a performance in between the magic of visuals and the band's haunting atmosphere.

With their self-titled E.P. on the way, The Family Doom already have their self made music video being played in rotation on Electronik TV on Roku and is being seen in homes all around the World.
