Red Bull Bedroom Jam is back on the calendar, offering talented artists the chance to take centre stage both on and off line. The ‘career building’ concept offers under-19s a unique opportunity to be seen, heard and remembered. With a whole new offering for 2009 including weekly live broadcasts, festival appearances and a UK tour plus ongoing career support, the bedroom is just the start-point for the right bands.
It is the first online platform ever to combine a user generated video music content jukebox with a LIVE streaming facility. Bands and artists upload their videos to www.redbullbedroomjam.com and then users vote for their favourite video. The most popular video gets selected for a live-streamed performance directly from their bedroom. On broadcast day, the Red Bull Bedroom Jam crew collect the musicians and selected mates and fans, and the winners rock out in front of the camera.
Season 1: 5:00pm is set in stone every Monday from 23rd February – 20th April to catch the week’s chosen act broadcast live from www.redbullbedroomjam.com
Not only this but each new band performance will be preceded by an interview with a more established act, all cut together with behind-the-scenes footage, artist interviews and backstage gossip each week making it a truly interactive ‘TV Show’ experience.
Week 1 will air an exclusive interview with YOUMEATSIX before RBBJ favourite MY PASSION return to play live for this launch-show special – then it’s over to you to upload and vote for the next 7 weeks and choose the subsequent stars of the show.
Season 2 will see Red Bull Bedroom Jam move out of the bedroom and onto the live stage in April via a collaboration with the guys behind the Camden Crawl in the form of the Red Bull Bedroom Jam X-Crawl, the first ever under age incarnation of the now legendary event. As the summer continues look out for Red Bull Bedroom Jam live stages at a number of festivals including Liverpool Sound City and Underage Festival. With a line up of Bedroom Jam favourites, past and present, this is yet another reason to make sure your band is in the running.
Season 3 will see the return of the weekly online shows from 14th September – 30th November leading up to the grand finale of the year; a live tour of the UK in a specially kitted out tour bus by the ‘lighthouse’ bands of the Bedroom Jam scheme.
Red Bull Bedroom Jam’s aim is to provide a live musical outlet for young bands and musicians, aged 19 years or younger and to offer the most talented bands career-long support, not just a quick fix prize.
