Former artificial intelligence researcher turned electronic music producer Toby Pohlen has unveiled his debut single, "Love Is Wise," breathing new artistic life into a historic philosophical message.
The track breathes contemporary energy into the famous 1959 declaration by philosopher Bertrand Russell, who, when asked what wisdom he would pass on to future generations, simply offered: "Love is wise. Hatred is foolish."
Sixty-seven years after those words were first spoken, Pohlen channels their enduring relevance into a modern house production. Built around melodic brass, lush violins, and layered synthesizers, the composition weaves echoing vocal textures around a dancefloor groove, allowing Russell's timeless advice to resonate through a fresh audio landscape.
The project marks a dramatic creative transition for Pohlen, whose journey to full-time music production follows a distinguished decade at the forefront of global technology. Having spent his formative years DJing and honing his production skills, he pursued high-level computer science degrees before embarking on a prominent career in artificial intelligence.
His tech credentials include six years as a researcher at London-based Google DeepMind, alongside co-founding xAI. In early 2026, Pohlen made the decision to step away from the tech industry to focus exclusively on his lifelong musical ambitions.
"Love Is Wise" serves as the debut statement from an artist bridging the worlds of advanced technology and deep musical craftsmanship, setting the stage for further releases throughout the year.
