Three-time GRAMMY Award-winning psych-rock pioneers The Flaming Lips have announced their long-awaited 17th studio album, The Teardrop Throbs. Arriving on 22 January 2027, the 13-track collection marks the band's first all-new LP in over six years and their debut release for Third Man Records.

Produced by the band alongside Taylor Johnson, Dave Fridmann, and Scott Booker, the album is heralded by lead single "God Will Control The Werewolves," which is available to stream now following its premiere on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Frontman Wayne Coyne describes the record's deeply personal roots, shaped by themes of parenthood, mortality, and creative transformation, including inspiration drawn from film scores, family moments, and soundscapes crafted alongside bandmates Steven Drozd, Tommy Hisel, Derek Brown, Matt Duckworth, and AJ Slaughter.

To celebrate the release, the Oklahoma City outfit will embark on a series of intimate two-night residency shows across the United States and the United Kingdom. Kicking off in Nashville on release day, the tour includes stops in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, before concluding with two special nights at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on 2 and 3 April 2027.

Tickets for all live dates go on general sale at 10:00 AM on Friday, 30 October 2026. The Teardrop Throbs will be available digitally, on CD, and on vinyl in standard black and limited Teardrop Blue variants via Third Man Records.
