Iconic Scottish rock band Glasvegas have announced their long-awaited fifth studio album, Airy Fairy, alongside a major 11-date UK and Ireland tour for 2027. Set for release on Friday, 2 April 2027 via Modern Sky UK, the record marks the band's first new album in six years and is introduced today by the emotive, distorted lead single, Degüello.
Writing a compelling new chapter in their personal and artistic journey, founding members James Allan, Rab Allan, and Paul Donoghue recorded the album with fierce intensity in Airdrie, Scotland. Self-produced by frontman James Allan, Airy Fairy follows the band’s 2021 release Godspeed, capturing a raw, fleet-of-foot energy while reflecting on personal growth, fatherhood, and creative freedom. Lead single Degüello pairs a surging wash of distorted guitars with Allan’s unmistakable, deeply introspective vocal delivery.
To celebrate the release, Glasvegas will embark on a extensive headline tour starting with a massive homecoming show at Glasgow’s O2 Academy on Saturday, 1 May 2027. The run will see the band return to intimate venues across England, Northern Ireland, and Ireland, culminating at Dolan's Warehouse in Limerick in September 2027.
Tickets for all tour dates go on general sale on Friday, 30 October 2026 at 10:00 AM BST via the band's official website.
