High-energy rock ‘n’ roll trio His Lordship have announced a new tribute album celebrating the upcoming centenary of rock pioneer Chuck Berry. Titled Promised Land, the 13-track record arrives on 13 November 2026 via Psychonaut Sounds/PIAS.
Formed by guitarist James Walbourne alongside drummer Kris Sonne and bassist Dave Page, His Lordship recorded the album at London’s Karma Studios in early 2026. The collection features 13 spontaneous, highly adrenalised reworkings of Berry’s catalogue, balancing iconic hits with deeper cuts. Reworked tracks include 'Maybelline', 'Roll Over Beethoven', 'Memphis, Tennessee', and 'Brown Eyed Handsome Man', alongside lesser-known numbers such as 'Right Off Rampart Street' and 'Jaguar and Thunderbird'.
The album release will be preceded on 30 October 2026 by a lead single, a fast-paced version of 'Nadine'. The track will be issued as a special one-off 7-inch vinyl single via Chiswick Records, backed by Berry's 1964 original.
To mark the album’s release, His Lordship will host two special headline shows—billed as "All Cranked Up"—at London’s 100 Club on 17 and 18 November 2026. The multi-night event features an extensive lineup of special guests joining the band on stage.
The first night on 17 November will see appearances from Chris Robinson (The Black Crowes), Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes (Primal Scream), Nick Lowe, Spider Stacy (The Pogues), and comedian Dave Hill. The second night on 18 November focuses explicitly on Berry's repertoire and features Berry’s son and grandson, Charles Berry and Charlie Berry III, alongside Chris Robinson and Kathy Valentine of The Go-Go's. Support across both nights will come from Dagger Polyester.
The project forms part of a wider series of global centenary events honoring Chuck Berry that will extend into 2027, including a feature-length documentary directed by King Hollis.
Promised Land will be available on vinyl, CD, and streaming platforms on 13 November 2026, with album pre-orders opening next week. Tickets for the 100 Club residency go on general sale Friday 25 September.
