A growing catalogue, a sound shaped by some of melodic techno's biggest names, and seven years of developing his craft. But who exactly is MTRX?

There is not a huge amount of information out there about MTRX.

What there is, however, is music.

A growing catalogue of melodic techno that moves between deep, atmospheric production and more direct club energy. The sound is influenced by artists including Anyma, Miss Monique, Tale Of Us, Kevin de Vries and Solomun, but MTRX is developing a sound of his own.

Four releases from 2026 give a glimpse of that range.

Spirits of Techno is a mid-tempo, club-ready track built around sampled vocals. House on Fire brings female vocals and electronic effects into a more chaotic but controlled soundscape. Life Goes On takes a deeper, atmospheric approach, while Watch Your Moves brings a more carefree energy with reggae-influenced vocals and a steady four-to-the-floor rhythm.

They are just four tracks from a growing catalogue, but they show an artist who is not afraid to explore different moods within the melodic techno space.

Seven Years in the Making
MTRX has been producing music since 2019.

Like many producers, the early years were spent learning through trial and error, experimenting inside the DAW and gradually working out where his sound belonged.

Eventually, that answer became clear.

Melodic techno.

"My life finally found a genre, melodic techno."

What began as a bedroom production journey has developed into a project reaching beyond the studio, with the music connected to audiences in places including Ibiza, Los Angeles and London.

The ambition is there, but so is a clear understanding that the journey is still developing.

The artists who inspired MTRX have their own stories. His goal is to create his own.

The Next ID
In electronic music, an "ID" usually refers to an unidentified or unreleased track, something that may be played before it has an official title or release.

For MTRX, the idea of the ID has become part of the creative process itself.

Each new track is an opportunity to improve on the previous one.

His philosophy is straightforward:

Feel inspired. Go in depth. Be original. Get the ID out of your mind and onto the platforms.

Then start again.

That approach explains why the catalogue continues to evolve rather than staying locked into one formula.

Add It. Loop It. Skip It.
There is also a refreshing simplicity to MTRX's relationship with the listener.

Once the music is released, the decision belongs to the audience.

Add it. Loop it. Skip it.
The artist can create the track, but cannot decide what it means to somebody else.

For MTRX, the answer is to keep making music and keep getting better.

And that brings us back to the original question.

Who is MTRX?
He is a producer who has spent seven years finding his way towards a sound that feels right, inspired by the artists who came before him but determined to follow his own path.

There is already a catalogue to explore.

And with new music on the way, there is more to discover.

For now, perhaps that is enough to know.
