Paul Simon has announced the upcoming release of Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Concert, a sweeping nearly two-hour live album arriving on 9 October 2026. Available to pre-order now as a 3-LP vinyl set, 2-CD set, and across all digital streaming platforms, the announcement is accompanied by the immediate release of the stunning live track "Under African Skies," featuring a poignant duet with Edie Brickell.
Captured live following a triumphant world tour, the recording preserves the magic of Simon’s recent concert film that debuted on Disney+ and Hulu. The album opens with his heralded 33-minute continuous piece Seven Psalms, specifically arranged for live performance. The expansive setlist then moves into newly imagined renditions of timeless classics, beloved deep cuts, and fan favourites, including "Graceland," "The Boxer," "Slip Slidin’ Away," and "The Sound of Silence."
The project marks an extraordinary milestone for the legendary songwriter, following his journey to overcome hearing loss and return to the stage. Reflecting on the tour, Simon shared that the experience of playing alongside world-class musicians brought an overwhelming sense of camaraderie and elation, describing the run as one of the most joyous tours of his career. Critics throughout his 58-date US run lauded the performances, with Rolling Stone hailing the production as a victory lap for one of the greatest songwriters of the past century.
The world-class touring ensemble features Mark Stewart, Steve Gadd, Bakithi Kumalo, Andy Snitzer, Mick Rossi, Jamey Haddad, Gyan Riley, Nancy Stagnitta, Caleb Burhans, and Eugene Friesen. Expertly recorded by Grammy-winning engineer Biff Dawes and mixed by Kyle Crusham, the physical release features stunning packaging designed by Geoff Gans with photography by Jake Edwards, including complete lyrics for Seven Psalms.
Produced by Paul Simon and presented by Owl Records and Legacy Recordings, Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Concert offers fans a definitive souvenir of a historic live era. Pre-orders are open now ahead of its October release.
