Acclaimed Newcastle singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin has unveiled an extraordinary new live band as he prepares to embark on the biggest headline UK tour of his career this winter. The powerhouse line-up brings together seasoned musicians from across British alternative music, creating a bigger and more expansive sound engineered for major venues.
Joining the band are former Catfish and the Bottlemen lead guitarist Johnny ‘Bondy’ Bond, drummer David ‘Greenie’ Green—who has performed with Little Comets, VANT, and Adam Ant—and former Red Rum Club member Joe Corby, also known as ‘Joe The Blow’, on trumpet. The tour reunites Bond and Green, who previously played together in Newcastle outfit Detroit Social Club, while Corby brings his signature brass melodies to Cushin’s live arrangement following his departure from Red Rum Club earlier this year.
Rehearsals are already underway, with Cushin noting that the updated setup sounds massive and elevates the songs to another level. Corby and Bond both expressed their enthusiasm for joining the run, describing the newly assembled band as a true force to be reckoned with.
The headline tour follows a period of remarkable momentum for Cushin. Championed early in his career by Noel Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Sam Fender, and Louis Tomlinson, the Geordie artist achieved a UK Top 40 milestone with his 2025 sophomore album, Love Is For Everyone. He has since built a formidable global live reputation, touring North American arenas alongside Tomlinson—including iconic stops at the Hollywood Bowl and Red Rocks Amphitheatre—as well as supporting Paul Weller, Robbie Williams, and OMD.
The upcoming winter run culminates in a landmark hometown finale at O2 City Hall Newcastle on Thursday 10 December 2026, marking Cushin's fifth headline appearance at the iconic venue after previously becoming the youngest Geordie artist to sell it out. Armed with a UK Top 40 record, growing international acclaim, and an all-star touring line-up, Andrew Cushin enters his largest UK headline run to date with unmatched live firepower.
