Hailing from Split, Croatia, instrumental three-piece Over Time have introduced their distinct blend of progressive rock, combining intricate time signatures, shifting tempos, and heavy, melodic guitar riffs.
The project originally began when drummer Danijel Stojan invited guitarist and songwriter Alen Koljanin to jam—a collaboration that quickly evolved as Koljanin brought in a collection of riffs built around unusual meters. The lineup was completed with the addition of bassist Luka Brodaric, a Split-born musician trained at the Music Academy in Slovenia. Keyboardist Duje Ivic also joins the trio as a special guest on the track "4 in 1."
Drawing primary inspiration from rock icons such as Rush, Led Zeppelin, and Van Halen, the band's catalogue balances original compositions—including "
Overtime" and "4 in 1"—with dedicated musical tributes such as "Ode to Rush," "Für Eddie," and "L'Zepp". Rather than prioritizing technical display for its own sake, Over Time emphasize seamless rhythmic transitions and cohesive ensemble arrangements designed to make complex signatures feel fluid and natural.
Driven by Koljanin’s guitar work and supported by a tight-knit rhythm section, the Croatian group continues to build their presence within the modern progressive rock space.
