Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden have announced two special anniversary vinyl releases celebrating milestone moments in the band's history, scheduled for release this December.
Marking forty years since the release of their multi-million-selling sixth studio album, Somewhere in Time, the band will reissue the landmark record on limited-edition Oxblood colour vinyl on December 4th. Featuring the 2015 audio remaster, the album includes classic tracks such as 'Wasted Years', 'Caught Somewhere In Time', 'Stranger In A Strange Land', 'Heaven Can Wait', and 'Alexander The Great'. An Amazon-exclusive variant will also be made available containing a full-sleeve poster.
In addition, tying into the 50th anniversary of the band's formation and reflecting the setlists performed on their current Run For Your Lives Tour, Iron Maiden will release a brand-new 9-album colour vinyl box set on December 11th. Titled 50th Anniversary Studio Album Collection, Part One: 1980 – 1992, the collection houses the band's first nine studio albums in a specially designed artwork box alongside an anniversary poster. The set will be sold exclusively through Amazon outside the USA.
The box set spans the band's defining early era, starting with their 1980 self-titled debut through to 1992's Fear Of The Dark. Each record is pressed on a unique colour variant, including The Number Of The Beast on silver vinyl, Piece Of Mind on yellow vinyl, and Powerslave on gold vinyl.
